Turtle Ridge Farm to Hold Next NH Growers’ Dinner Event

The 2008 New Hampshire Growers’ Dinner series continues on August 23rd at the Turtle Ridge Farm in Sugar Hill. This series of special dinner events, organized by the NH Farm to Restaurant Connection, highlights the use of local farm and food products at local restaurants.

The Turtle Ridge Farm event is sponsored by the Turtle Ridge Foundation, a non-profit organization established by skier, Bode Miller and the Miller family.  The Foundation is dedicated to supporting and creating programs that solve difficult environmental, health and economic issues, including the Bretton Woods Adaptive Program, a non-profit organization focused on providing sports and recreation to people with disabilities, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, The Aspen Cancer Survivors Center and The Boys and Girls Club of America, North Country, New Hampshire.  Turtle Ridge Farm is an organic vegetable farm operated by the Foundation.

The August 23rd dinner is being catered by Chef Joe’s Catering of Sugar Hill, a long established business in the region.  Chef Joe and Nancy Peterson own and operate the business, offering catering for events large and small.  Chef Joe’s menu for the Turtle Ridge Farm dinner will feature fresh vegetables, including sweet corn from Turtle Ridge Farm, as well as many products from nearby New Hampshire farms such as cheeses, trout, turkey, venison, beef and pork.  A multi-station buffet is planned so diners can sample the full array of options. The evening begins at 5 pm with a smorgasbord of hors d’oeuvres.

Growers’ Dinner events are coordinated by the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, a program linking New Hampshire farms with New Hampshire restaurants.   The Growers’ Dinner at the Turtle Ridge Farm is part of a fundraising weekend of activities sponsored by Turtle Ridge Foundation.  Participants may come just for the dinner or join the Miller family for tennis or golf, or all three.
