The Inn at East Hill Farm Hosts Final 2008 NH Growers’ Dinner Event

The Inn at East Hill Farm in Troy will host this season’s fourth and final Official New Hampshire Growers’ Dinner on November 2, 2008.  This series of special dinner events, organized by the NH Farm to Restaurant Connection, highlights the use of local farm and food products at local restaurants.

The Inn at East Hill Farm was built in 1834 and its earliest guests were farmers from Massachusetts who drove their cattle to the Inn’s property for summer pasture. Today the inn includes cottages in addition to the original main building, for a total of 65 guest rooms.  The Inn is a working farm with a variety of animals, gardens and the opportunity for guests to get involved with activities like milking cows and goats, feeding the animals, making butter and more.  The inn caters to families and strives to provide an atmosphere of quality, comfort and relaxation for all guests.

The November 2nd NH Growers Dinner is being prepared under the direction of Head Chef, Mark Drury and will feature many items produced on the farm and at nearby farms. Offerings will include roast turkey, homemade breads, soup, seasonal vegetables, blueberry cobbler and Indian pudding. Chef Drury has been delighting guests with his culinary creations at the Inn at east Hill Farm for 30 years.

The evening gets underway with hors d’oeuvres and live fiddle music at 5 pm.  Dinner is at 6 pm and guests are invited to BYOB.  The dinner price is $18.95 per person age 16 & up and $10.95 per child age 2-15 (tax and gratuities not included).   Reservations are required.

Growers’ Dinner events are coordinated by the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, a program linking New Hampshire farms with New Hampshire restaurant.
